About Updat3

News Without the Noise.

Most news apps show you what happened. Updat3 shows you what's actually going on, from every angle, with the context you need to form your own educated opinion. No spin. No agenda. Just the facts.

Who we are

We're a team of people who love staying informed but got tired of the work it takes to actually be informed. Reading one outlet gives you one angle. Reading five gives you five agendas. Then comes the research — trying to understand the background, the history, what's verified and what's speculation. Hours later you're still not sure what's real.

We built Updat3 because we wanted a better way. One place that does that work for you, pulling from sources across the spectrum, extracting what actually happened, and giving you the context to understand why. Not to tell you what to think. To give you everything you need to think for yourself.

The problem

Modern media has drifted far from presenting facts. Today's news is largely opinion, framed, packaged, and optimised to confirm what you already believe. Outrage drives engagement. Engagement drives ad revenue. You are not the customer. You are the product.

The result is that most people are consuming more news than ever and understanding less of it. Not because they aren't paying attention, but because the information they're getting has been filtered through someone else's agenda before it reaches them.

What we do differently

Every story on Updat3 gives you six things.

A BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) — two sentences telling you exactly what happened and what the immediate consequence is.

Key facts — the verified, sourced facts extracted from across the coverage. No commentary. No spin.

Historical context — the documented background that explains why this is happening. Not last week. As far back as the story actually requires.

The Brief — a full narrative article synthesized from multiple sources across the political and geographic spectrum. Not one outlet's take. The most complete picture we can build from all of them.

Why it matters — a plain explanation of the real-world consequences for ordinary people, not governments or markets.

What to watch next — concrete developments to follow so you can stay ahead of the story as it evolves.

One standard

Updat3 applies the same scrutiny to every party, every government, every armed group — no exceptions. The same directness, the same context, the same willingness to follow documented facts wherever they lead, regardless of who they implicate.

This isn't both-sides journalism that invents false equivalence. It's equal standards of evidence and equal willingness to report what the evidence shows.

Historical context that actually helps

Conflicts, political crises, and economic disruptions rarely start where the headlines say they do. Most breaking news assumes you already know the background. Updat3 doesn't. Every story includes a historical context section that traces the real origin, not as editorializing, but as documented historical record.

Our sources

Updat3 aggregates from 100+ outlets globally across wire services, national broadcasters, regional press, and specialist publications spanning the political spectrum. We don't exclude outlets because of their editorial lean. A partisan source is still a signal worth knowing about.

Sources include BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters, AP, Fox News, the Guardian, Financial Times, Channel News Asia, South China Morning Post, Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, Middle East Eye, France 24, DW, ABC Australia, The Hindu, and many more.
